Simple steps to access and use your Notion template
You can check a step-by-step guidence tutorial below that shows exactly how to access and set up your Notion template quickly and easily. Follow along to get started without any hassle!
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1 — You already opened the PDF and clicked the button below to open the link.
After you click that button, the Notion page will open in a web browser tab or prompt to open the Notion app.
Step 2 — Choose where to open the page
• If you have the Notion app installed, you may see an “Open in Notion” prompt. It is recommended to open the page in the Notion app for the best experience, but opening it in the browser also works.
• If you do not have an account, sign up for Notion (it’s free). If you already have an account, sign in.
Step 3 — Sign in to Notion (if asked)
• In browser: click “Log in” (top right) and follow the email/social sign-in flow.
• In app: open Notion, then if the template link opened an in-app page you may be asked to sign in there.
• If you use Google/Apple sign-in, choose that option.
Step 4 — Duplicate the template into your workspace (Desktop / Browser)
-
Look at the top-right corner of the Notion page.
-
Click the Duplicate button.
-
Notion will copy the page to your workspace. You now own your copy and can edit it freely.
Step 5 — Duplicate on mobile (iPhone, iPad, Android)
-
Open the link in Safari/Chrome or tap “Open in Notion” if prompted.
-
On the opened page tap the three-dot menu (top right).
-
Tap Duplicate (or Duplicate to…) and choose which workspace or location to save it in.
Step 6 — Where to find your duplicated template
• Desktop: open the left sidebar. The duplicated page usually appears under Private (or under the workspace you chose).
• Quick find: press Ctrl/Cmd + P and type the template name to jump to it.
• Mobile: tap the search icon and type the template name.
Step 7 — Move the template to a specific place (optional)
• Click the three-dot menu on the duplicated page → Move to → choose a workspace or parent page.
• On mobile use the three-dot menu → Move to.
Step 8 — Add to Favorites for quick access (optional)
• Desktop: open the page and click the star icon near the top-left to add to Favorites; it will appear in the sidebar.
• Mobile: open the three-dot menu and choose Favorite.
Step 9 — Start using and customizing
• Open any subpages and edit text, databases, or layouts — your copy is independent of the original.
• You can rename pages, change icons/covers, add content, and adapt properties to your workflow.
Troubleshooting & common issues
If you don’t see a “Duplicate” button
• You might not be logged in — sign in and reload the page.
• The page owner may not have allowed duplication. If the page is private you will see a Request access button. Click that, then contact the seller (me) and send a screenshot so I can update the share settings.
• Try switching between browser and app: if one doesn’t show Duplicate, open the link in the other.
If the page says “Request access”
• Click Request access and then contact me with your order number and the email you used. I will update the sharing settings so you can duplicate it.
If the duplicate went to the wrong workspace
• Use Move to (three-dot menu → Move to) and pick the correct workspace or parent page.
If images, embeds or integrations don’t load
• Some embeds or external integrations may require separate accounts or permissions. These do not affect the structure of the template. If something is missing, send a screenshot and I’ll help.
If you don’t receive the PDF after purchase
• Check spam folder or download area of the platform you purchased from (Etsy/Gumroad/Wix). If still missing, contact me with order details.
If Notion prompts you to upgrade to duplicate
• Most templates work on Notion’s free plan. If a particular block requires a paid feature, I will note that in the product description; contact me if you see a paywall.
iPad / iPhone specific tips
• Install the Notion app from the App Store first for the smoothest experience.
• Open the PDF in Mail or Files, tap the “Get the Template” button, then choose “Open in Notion” when prompted.
• If the “Open in Notion” prompt does not appear, copy the link from the PDF and paste it into Safari; then try again.
• After opening the page in-app, use the three-dot menu → Duplicate.
